Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement and augmentation are a very effective medical procedure in re-defining the contours of the lips and in providing fullness and volume.

Lips which have lost their plumpness or are naturally very thin can have volume added to restore a more youthful appearance and stop them disappearing. This is one of our most popular treatments and as Dr Alison J Brown is a dentist, she is very good at making this procedure almost painless. She can make the results as natural as you want and will discuss this with you in detail at your consultation.


The lip filler gels used for plumping the lips and for getting rid of the upper lip lines are the same as those used elsewhere but they are softer. The gels are non- permanent and safe to use and give a result which feels natural and achieves the result which can be as subtle as you wish. Sometimes it is the proportions between the lips which have changed over the years and there is not enough lip to put lip stick on.


Alison is able to carefully add volume to your lips to restore a more youthful proportion and to improve your confidence. More dramatic results can be achieved if desired, but most people want something that looks very natural. Alison has done work on many ladies who have to wear lipstick for their work (airline cabin crew) and they have been very pleased with the results.

  • The Consultion

    Dr Alison J Brown is experienced in all aspects of lip augmentation and she will take the time to understand what result you want to achieve. She achieves fantastic, natural looking results and she will be able to give advice on which dermal filler is the best one for you. You may want a very full lip with a defined border, or you may prefer something more subtle. Every lip procedure and expectation is different and is tailored to you as an individual. The procedure is practically painless as most products are already mixed with anaesthetic but Alison is experienced in the art of giving dental blocks to ensure totally painfree treatment.


    A full medical history is taken during your consultation and the treatment is fully explained. Alison will advise you on which type of lip filler will achieve the results that you want for your lips. Tiny amounts of product are injected precisely into the lips using a very fine needle and the results can be seen straight afterwards. The result is an instant lifting, plumping and definition of the contours of the lips, which add volume to the lips. Treatments take up to an hour and most people go straight back to their normal activities afterwards but we do recommend that you do not go straight out to eat as your lips will be numb for an hour or two straight afterwards, especially if you have had a dental anaesthetic.

  • The Results

    Lips are fuller and in better proportion, there is a reduction in the appearance of fine lines around the mouth. There is a better border around the lips which allows lipstick to be applied accurately and not to bleed. Comfort is very important to us and Dr Alison J Brown will ensure that your treatment will not be painful and that you are delighted with the result. As with all procedures, Alison will ensure that you are given after care advice for the best results.


    Results usually last 12 months and up to 15 months in some cases. Alison advises you to have a top- up treatment when you notice the effects beginning to wear off as this encourages your own collagen to renew itself and means that over time, the results last longer.
